EDiscovery tools revolutionize the legal process
0
The amending of the Federal Rules of Civil procedure, as far back as 2006, was a defining moment for the use of ediscovery. Basically, the amendments mandated organizations to effectively handle any forms of electronically stored info and data, and this was particularly important for the handling of information for civil lawsuits. In fact, a number of ediscovery tools were launched to ensure better retrieval and analysis of stored information, leading to a proliferation of vendors that were creating software to meet the ever changing needs of law firms and other relevant businesses. EDiscovery, within the legal arena, is simply the process to extract electronic info, and analyze the data and present it in an acceptable manner for pre-trial proceedings. Law firms were thus mandated to change and adopt such tools, and this was really for the betterment of the profession as a whole. Legal proceedings and law firms in particular, with the adoption of such ediscovery tools, have made major strides in the manner in which such firms handle information, and data, related to legal proceedings. The adoption of such tools has also made court proceedings run more effectively, and the whole court process is more efficient for this reason.
